Welcome everyone to our March newsletter!
Spring is just around the corner and the children are in preparation to plant strawberries, vegetables and sunflowers in the garden. We can’t wait!
The children had a great time celebrating World Book Day on Thursday 4th March. The children and staff dressed up as characters from their favourite books and enjoyed a Teddy Bears Picnic. The Gruffalo and The Big Bad Wolf seemed to be a favourite amongst the children!
This month, the babies have been exploring more of the garden and have enjoyed using their gross motor skills to practise climbing on the outdoor climbing frame and slide. They are enjoying being able to spend longer outside now the weather is getting milder.
The Tots have been exploring their new wooden hut this month, which was kindly donated by Sam, in our Tots room. This is a sheltered space that has been based at the bottom of our garden, near our mud kitchen, with seating and a table inside. The children have been very keen to sell ice cream through the window!
This month, the children in Pre-school were very excited to meet our new nursery Tortoise, named Tiny Tim. He has been spending some time walking up and down the corridor and in the garden with the Guinea Pigs. When children have the opportunity to interact with animals, they build an understanding of empathy, care and an awareness for the needs of others. We are very pleased to welcome Tiny Tim into our nursery family!
What’s coming up in April
The children are going to have a busy time in April with lots of Spring and Easter activities taking place! As always at this time of year, we are already looking forward to the fast approaching egg hunts. The children will also be involved in creating an Easter tree for outside of the nursery. The children will be making bird feeders to hang from the tree and the bird table to encourage the Robin and Squirrel to keep visiting.
Other important information
Children who attend term time only will be breaking up for Easter break on Wednesday 31st March and returning on the Monday 19th April. The setting is open for the children who attend all year round except for on Good Friday and Easter Monday.
Many thanks for your ongoing support. We do have an open-door policy so of you do have any questions or queries, then please do not hesitate to approach me or another member of staff.
