Innsworth July News: Natural resources, painting and bear hunts

The Old Station Nursery Group - Creating Brighter Futures Together

July news

It has been a very busy eight weeks with the nursery reopening and it has been fantastic to see many of our children return to InnsworthIt has been amazing to see how well the children have adapted to the changes of bubble groups and lots of hand washing. We would also like to thank parents for their support and understanding of the changes.

The baby room have celebrated Children’s Art Week this month. They have used different brushes and resources to paint in different ways to create their artwork, to display in their roomThe Tots have been enjoying the natural resourced area of the garden; the children have been part of many bug hunts and have painted the wooden fence in rainbow colours. The Tots have taken an interest in the story ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ and made a bear cave from the story with their own deep, cold river and thick, oozy mud

In pre-school, we have 36 children leaving soon to start Primary School and we hope that they are leaving with many happy memories. The pre-school children and staff enjoyed Sports Day and received medals this month. They had party afternoons with pass the parcel, musical chairs, balloons and party food! Last week, the children particularly enjoyed watching their caterpillars grow into butterflies and setting them free.

What’s coming up in August

We are hoping for lots more wonderful weather so that the children can continue enjoying their outdoor learning and play.

Pritika’s last day with us will be Friday 31st July as her husband has a military posting. Charlotte’s last day will be 14th August as she is relocating to be nearer to her family. All the staff wish them the best of luck and I would like to thank them both for all their support and hard work.

Due to updated Government Guidance, the nursery does not have to separate the children into smaller bubble groups, however, the children will not be mixing with children from other rooms, where possible. Children and parents will continue to enter the nursery through the side garden gate until further notice, where the 2 metre rule applies.

Thank you, to you all, for your continued support. Please remember that we have an open-door policy at nursery – if I’m not in the office, I will be in one of the rooms with the children. On the rare occasions that I am not at nursery, either Sue, Jemma or one of the room leaders will be around to help.

As you many be aware, we are listed on a nursery review site called Daynurseries. We would be very grateful if you would spare a few minutes to leave us a review. You can do this online, by clicking here. Thank you very much for your continued support.
