Welcome to our July Newsletter! The staff and children are all ready to enjoy the summer holidays and the quieter period of the year. It has been very warm in the nursery, but the staff and children have engaged in lots of water play, are embracing the sunshine in the mornings and the shade in the afternoons, and have an endless supply of Ice Pops in the freezer! Thank you for the lovely gifts that have been given to staff from parents of those children that are leaving us to go to school or are transitioning into another room, they are so appreciated.
The children in the Baby Room have been embracing lots of cool water and ice play during the warm weather. They have been using the undercover area to take part in water play – adding various resources, engaging in songs and rhymes and most importantly, cooling down!
The children in the Tots room have been focusing on planting seeds in their garden and watering their tomato plants daily. Encouraging the children to engage in gardening has enabled them to have the sensory experience of different textures of seeds, soil, flowers, petals, and leaves. Digging and planting in the garden encourages the development of their motor skills and concentration skills.
The Preschool children have been very busy this last month. The school leavers have had endless celebrations to mark their transition to ‘big school’. Freedom Photography were able to come into nursery and take professional photos. They enjoyed the sunshine and made the most of the open space outside nursery by participating in various sports activities. The children then cooled off making their own ice cream cones with sprinkles and chocolate sauce! The Preschool children had a visit from Rupert and Chums Farm – they had the opportunity to meet Ponies Rupert and Beatrix, Arnold the Sheep, Eric and Pip the Rabbits, Barney and Pinky the Guinea Pigs and Jem the Dog. Finally, the children had lots of giggles taking part in a graduation photo shoot with their Key Carers. We are all very excited for the children to transition and to begin their next chapter.
What’s coming up next month
The baby room staff are hoping to be able to get to the local Library over the month of August, now that some of the restrictions have been lifted. This gives the children in the baby room the opportunity to explore books and resources in a different environment.
We are all really excited to be welcoming Boogie Beats back in September for the Baby Room and Tots Room. Sporty Stars with be returning for some of the Pre-schoolers, days and times to be confirmed.
