February has been a busy month for Innsworth. The children had a fantastic time raising awareness for Congenital Heart Disease and raising £85 for local charity, Heart Heroes. They dressed in red and engaged in some exciting red themed activities; linking the red theme in with Chinese New Year where the children enjoyed some authentic Chinese food and dancing.
Pancake Day was a big hit with the children, as always! They engaged in Playdough pancakes, using a variety of resources, such as pans, spatulas, mashers, and whisks. The children had the chances to fill their own pancakes with fresh cream and a variety of fresh fruit.
This month, the Babies and Tots have been exploring in the snow and ice. They have been choosing different toys to freeze in water overnight and using a variety of tools to free them from the ice the following day.
As Spring begins to appear, the preschool children have been looking out for the Robins and Squirrel that have been visiting our garden every morning and using binoculars to spot them. They have made feeders to hang in the trees for the birds and have been introduced to some beautiful daffodils in their preschool room.
What’s coming up in March
March is another busy month! We will be celebrating Mother’s Day, St Patrick’s Day and Comic Relief.
On Thursday 4th March, the children will be invited to dress up as their favourite book character for World Book Day. Each room will have a focus book for the week; Dear Zoo for Babies, The Three Little Pigs for Tots and The Gruffalo for preschool. There will be themed activities all week as well as a Teddy Bear’s picnic.
