We have all got into the Christmas spirit by decorating the nursery and added festive touches to our uniforms this month!
The babies have been getting their Christmas on! Glitter has been the word of the month and we have been spreading it (and festive cheer) everywhere! The children have helped to decorate the room by creating beautiful crafts, such as trees, Santa’s sleigh, glittery stars and cotton wool snowmen. The children have listened to Christmas music, even doing a themed wake and shake, played jingly bells and sung Christmas songs. One of our children can do a very good Mariah Carey impression!
The Tots have had an advent calendar with a twist this year. Each day when the children open the numbered door, there is an exciting Christmas craft the children can choose to do! These include wreath making and hand painting festive scenes. If that wasn’t enough, the group also get a new Christmas book everyday, which all the children sit and read together at story time.
Preschool have been embracing all things wintery and Christmassy too. The children have made their own play snow using cornflour and strawberry hair conditioner. They have been sprinkling, moulding and squeezing to create snowmen and snow balls. One evening, the polar animals must have been exploring it as there were footprints all over it in the morning! Other activities have included making hanging, glittery pine cone ornaments and natural reindeer decorations using wonderful smelling conifers for antlers.
What’s coming up in January
We welcome two new members of staff to our nursery family in January, Chelsea and Bethan, along with lots of new families across all the rooms, especially in Babies! Bethan will be working in a room and Chelsea will be helping out in the kitchen and covering lunches.
We are very excited to have lots of new faces around nursery and getting to know everyone!
Other important information
We have said a sad farewell to Julie from Babies who has left to spend more time with her new grand daughter. We are sure that you will enjoy all of your quality time together but we will miss you nevertheless. Thank you for all your hard work.
Just a reminder to parents that we shut at 1pm on Christmas Eve and will reopen for everyone on the 4th January.
We have started to use the fogging machine throughout the nursery. Each room is ‘fogged’ once a week.
What a strange and challenging year it has been for us all! We would like to thank all our families for your support, kind words and bearing with us during the madness! Everyone in the team wishes you a very Merry Christmas and we’ll see you all in the New Year!
