Hello everyone, what a busy August we have had! We hope you have had a chance to get away for a break during the holidays. We say a sad farewell to Katherine and Kayleigh this month who are leaving us for new challenges. We wish all our school leavers all the best for their first day at school, please do email photos of them looking smart in their uniforms and let us know how they get on. We warmly welcome all our new families and look forward to seeing our term timers
Thank you to all of those who came to support us at the community day, we certainly had a lovely time and met some new parents!
This month, the Babies were very excited to welcome everyone to our summer picnic. We had a great turnout, thank you to all of those that could make it. We had favourite activities out for the children to explore including the sandpit and the Bubble machine. Of course, no party would be complete without music, so we showed off our best moves to the songs we love the best. We also had a delicious buffet, which everyone got stuck into straight away!
In Tots we have been very interested in different modes of transport, the children all get so excited when we see an aeroplane fly over head. We have spent a lot of time using our imagination and role play skills to explore our new train set; the children were very eager to play with it. Outside in the garden we drew a chalk racetrack for the children to follow on the bikes, we thought about going fast and slow and even had races!
Preschool have been busy looking at nature. They have planted in their gardening area and made a scarecrow to protect the plants. The children have been spotting butterflies and birds too. The staff have got caterpillars to show the life cycle of a butterfly. The children have been fascinated by watching the transition.
What’s coming up next month
On Wednesday 1st September will be celebrating random acts of kindness day. Watch this space! On the 2nd we are looking forward to welcoming our term time children back. On Monday 6th we will be having a party to celebrate Celia’s big birthday, then on the 17th we will honour ‘Talk like a pirate day’ by doing just that, as well as some pirate themed fun experiences.
Other important information
Our employee of the month for August was Bee for organising a great leavers graduation party. She got a personalised glass and a tipple to go in it! Well done Bee!
