What a fun-filled February we have had. The team at Heath Mill have enjoyed so many lovely events with the children throughout the month and we hope that the little ones had as much fun as we did!
This month, we have raised money for the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund, celebrated Chinese New Year, enjoyed Pancake Day and raised awareness of all the hardworking Early Years staff by participating in the Thumbs Up for Early Years social media takeover.
Throughout the month, the Babies have been enjoying lots of role play, particularly hairdressing! They have enjoyed learning to play together in small groups and continuing to develop their imagination skills. The Toddlers have been exploring a new book each week and have been developing their spoken language and other communication skills. The Preschool children focused on Chinese New Year and other Chinese traditions this month. They enjoyed exploring different foods, stories and role play as a part of their daily activities.
What’s coming up in March
In March, we will be celebrating World Book Day and would love for the children and staff to come dressed to nursery in their pyjamas on Thursday 4th March, ready for a ‘bedtime story’. We will also be taking part in Red Nose Day on Friday 19th March and cannot wait to see everyone with their silly red noses!
Our Pre-schoolers will be continuing with the World Book Day theme throughout the month and encouraging children to explore different stories and talk about their favourite books; this will help them to practice their memory and recall skills. The Toddlers will be moving on to Maths next month and looking at the shapes which they can see all around them. The Babies will be looking forward to Springtime and Easter; beginning to explore the changes in our outside world.
Other important information
We are really looking forward to welcoming Nasmin to our Babies team from March. We know she will make a wonderful addition to the Heath Mill team. Nasmin will be in our Baby rooms Tuesday-Friday from 2nd March, and has lots of experience in various roles and age groups.
Thanks, as always, to all of our families for your continued support.
