August news

Thanks to all the lovely weather we have had this month, the children have been having lots of fun in our outdoor area. From making obstacle courses to going on a shape hunts, there has been lots of activity outside.

We are very saddened to say that last month one of our team members’ Mom sadly passed away and we wanted to show our respect and support in raising funds for Compton Hospice who cared for her in her final months. On Thursday 27th August, we asked all children and staff to wear yellow in honour of our team members Mom and the care that Compton Hospice provided for her. We kindly asked our Parents to make a suggested donation of £1. Thank you for supporting us and Compton Hospice for something that is so close to our hearts.

What’s coming up in September

We are overjoyed to announce that Lydia will be joining our Mr Mischiefs team from September. Lydia has worked with Sandhills Wombourne for 3 years and has experience in many different age groups. She is a fully qualified Practitioner who has visited our setting previously to help with covering annual leave. We know she will be a very valued addition to our team here at Heath Mill.

On Wednesday 16th September, both staff and children will be taking part in our Jeans for Genes fundraiser by wearing jeans to nursery and doing some fun activities. The money raised from donations will help to make a difference to children affected by genetic disorders.

Due to the current circumstances, we will not be able to hold our usual cake sale in order to take part in the Macmillian Coffee Morning. However, we would still like to raise money for this cause, so we have asked the staff and children who attend nursery that day to wear something green and to make a donation. Children will be baking some yummy cakes in their own rooms to take home with them!

Other important information

Please could all parents ensure children have the appropriate outdoor attire for altering weather conditions e.g. sunhat, sun cream, wellies and raincoats/splash suits.

If you have time, we would be very grateful if you could leave us a review on Daynurseries. You can do this online by clicking here. Thank you for your continued support.
