Harpole April News: Creative Activities, Outdoor Learning and a Car Wash

Harpole April News

Welcome to Harpole Day Nursery’s April newsletter. We have been very busy during the month of April, with all of the children taking part in lots of fun filled activities.

April news

The Ducks, Bears and Preschool were all invited to take part in an Easter bonnet competition, with prizes being given out to the best creations in each individual room. The children enjoyed bringing their bonnets in to nursery and showing them to all of the children and teams from each room.

The Ducks room have taken part in lots of creative activities this month. The children were all keen to take part in painting, individually choosing whichever resources they would like to create their painting with, ranging from sponges to bubble wrap.

Throughout April, the Bears have been utilising the garden whilst making the most of the sunshine, using the large loose parts to create their own obstacle courses. The children have encouraged each other to have a turn as well as helping and supporting each other across the course if needed.

The Preschoolers enjoyed setting up their own car wash in the water tray this month. The children have taken their large trucks to the mud tyres and covered them in mud, getting them as dirty as possible. The children then used various cleaning resources, including water sprays, toothbrushes, sponges, and cloths to clean their trucks.

What’s coming up next month

Throughout the nursery, we are looking forward to celebrating National Walking Month throughout May, getting out and about around the village. We will also be taking part in Deaf Awareness Week where the Preschool children will be able to use their new signing skills to communicate.

Next month, we will also be participating in National Sun Awareness Week which will provide a good opportunity to discuss with the children about using sun cream and wearing sun hats to protect them.

We also have a few other special days, including International Space Day, International Nurses Day and World Bee Day, amongst a few others that we will make you aware of via Tapestry. We look forward to another busy month ahead!

Other important information

Please be reminded that we close for bank holidays and there are 2 coming up in May. This coming Monday, on the 3rd May, and at the end of the month on the 31st May.

Thank you all for your continued support.
