Filkins September News: A Warm Welcome, The Big Draw and Halloween

The Old Station Nursery Group - Creating Brighter Futures Together

September news

All of the Filkins nursery team would like to welcome all of the new children and families to our setting. Everyone has settled in really well and is enjoying their new experiences and meeting new friends.

I would like to thank all children, parents and staff for welcoming me in to the Filkins family. I have enjoyed getting to know everyone. As you are aware, I am also the Manager at our Bampton branch, and with the help of both teams, I am able to spend Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at Filkins. If you would like to speak to me while I am at Bampton, I am still available through email or you are welcome to phone me there.

Nicky Griffin has been promoted to Deputy Manager and has been a great help, with the support of Rachael Bach, who is now our Preschool room leader.

We would like to congratulate Donna Bayliss and her family, on the birth of their beautiful baby boy named Milo. Grace is enjoying being a big sister. We would also like to congratulate Chantelle Shepherd who has been a dedicated member of staff at Filkins for 10 years. Thank you for all you hard work.

What’s coming up in October

In October, we will be participating in the The Big Draw. During the month, the children will all be participating in a variety of creative activities, creating some large pieces of art work and sculptures. This promotes visual literacy and art education.  We can’t wait to see where the children’s imagination takes them!

We will be having a Halloween party where children will have the opportunity to dress up. The date of the event and further details will be confirmed soon.

Other important information

Please could you telephone nursery (not email) by 10am if your child has a last-minute absence from nursery. We are required to note all absences from a safeguarding perspective.

Please can I remind all parents that we are not allowed to park on the front of the village hall, even for a short drop-off period. I realise that the parking facilities for nursery are not ideal, but we do need to respect the wishes of the hall committee. Can I ask that you park courteously in the road, leaving minimal space between vehicles to allow for others to park. Please can you ensure that anyone who may drop off your child is aware of this. Thank you.

October half-term is from Monday 26th to Friday 30th.

If you have time, we would be very grateful if you could leave us a review on Daynurseries. You can do this online by clicking here. Thank you for your continued support.
