Welcome to our March newsletter! Spring is finally here. It has been so nice to have some beautiful weather and lighter evenings.
Thank you to everyone who took part on World Book Day which we celebrated throughout the nursery this month. The children’s (and staff’s!) outfits were amazing. Everyone had a great day exploring their favourite books and stories, role playing and telling their friend’s about their costumes!
Unfortunately, this year we were unable to celebrate Mother’s Day like we would normally. The children, however, thoroughly enjoyed getting creating and making some very special things for loved one at home. We hope you all had a great day and enjoyed your little hand made gifts.
This week, the children had a ‘Healthy Body and Happy’ week. The children participated in lots of discussions on how they can stay healthy. They looked at books surrounding this topic and told different stories about being healthy. The children also tried different healthy foods as well as participating in lots of fun physical exercise outside.
Also this week, we did a sponsored daffodil doodle in our individual bubbles for the Marie Curie daffodil appeal. The children were sponsored by their families and did as many laps around the field as they could. They really enjoyed running, walking, jumping, crawling, etc. As they crossed the finish line, all children received a gold medal. We were so proud of how well they did! We will let you know how much we raise but until then, thank you for all of your kind sponsorship. Your support is always appreciated.
What’s coming up in April
In April, we will, of course, be celebrating Easter! This means that it is that time of year again for the children to start making those beautiful Easter Bonnets! Dates to follow so watch this space.
The children will also be participating in lots of different activities themed around Easter; from getting creative and making lots of different crafts using a variety of resources to a very exciting Easter egg hunt! We can’t wait.
Other important information
I will be returning to the setting from 1st April. I am really looking forward to meeting all of the new parents and children face to face. I’m also really excited to see how the other children have grown and to see my wonderful team. I cannot wait to get involved in person again and talk to humans!
Sally will also be returning to nursery after the Easter holidays – as she works term time only. We cannot wait to have her back and I am sure the children will be very excited to see her again.
Can I please remind parents to watch their speed when driving down the road to the nursery. It is a very tight road, with residents and children walking along the road throughout most of the day.
Please remember it is Good Friday on April 2nd and Easter Monday on 5th April so the nursery will be closed for all children.
As always, we are so grateful for all of your kind words, patience and support throughout these times.
