Faringdon September News: Roald Dahl Day, Recycling and Halloween

September news
September has passed in a blur; we can hardly believe it!
We have had lots of lovely play experiences during the month. You will have been aware of our Roald Dahl Day through your children’s journals and we continue to add all of our updates there. We have been a little busy, so apologies if some of these have been a bit later getting to you.
As always, we appreciate everyone’s feedback and comments on EyLog, it’s always lovely to receive your messages.
Recycle Week took place this week and the children have participated in lots of activities to demonstrate the importance of recycling through fun and interactive play. Our eco-committee in Preschool are working hard to help the nursery achieve its eco-schools award so Recycle Week was a brilliant awareness week to support us in moving forward with this.
What’s coming up in October
October is another busy month for us! We do have plans for a Halloween Party, however, this will look a little different from previous years years due to the current restrictions. We will communicate further details about this event closer to the time.
This year we will hold a pumpkin carving competition and ask you all to send in an entry, with your name pinned to the bottom please. These will all be lit up along the front of nursery as you arrive in the evening. Between the fence and the wall.
Other important information
We recently sent all parents our updated COVID-19 procedures. We continue to uphold high levels of cleaning and safety. Please do bear with us whilst we navigate all of the new guidance and challenges it poses, not only to us as a staff team, but also to you as a family. We do appreciate that children being sent home is frustrating and can be inconvenient, however, we cannot to risk the safety of anyone, so we will be ensuring that our guidance is followed through meticulously. Your understanding of this is much appreciated.
We have a wonderful temporary Nursery Cook called Beth Taylor. Many of you will know her from Las Chicca’s Tapas. She is helping us out whilst Desde is off. We are delighted to have her with us and next Friday, the 25th September, Beth will be cooking us all Paella, to mark European Languages Day, how lucky are we?
If you have time, we would be very grateful if you could leave us a review on Daynurseries. You can do this online by clicking here. Thank you for your continued support.
