Faringdon February News: Snow, Spring and Books

The Old Station Nursery Group - Creating Brighter Futures Together

February news

We have seen all weathers this month, including a very cold patch with a lovely dusting of snow. This provided us with lots of opportunities to explore all things frozen throughout the nursery. And yet as I type this, the sun is shining, all the bulbs are peeking through the soil and the promise of Spring iin the air!

Like many of you, we are all feeling the impact of lockdown 3. It feels, as we near the year milestone, that it is all consuming and never ending. However, we have had such interest in new spaces for nursery children and we have welcomed so many new faces over this time, that really, what we want to say to you all is thank you for entrusting us to care for your little ones! Especially as it’s all been very different. For one, not having you in the classrooms and garden spaces has been something we all miss, and we have also really missed sibling lunches and play dates across rooms. We so look forward to when we can start to reintroduce these things.

The #ThumbsUpRorEarlyYears campaign was great success, with so many people getting involved with pictures and posts. Thank you to all of you who took part and for sending us lovely messages throughout the day.

Half term was quieter for us and we took full stock of where we are going. Lots of plans have been made within each room, so please do keep an eye on the display board at nursery to be aware of all that is going on.

What’s coming up in March

In March, we are very excited to be celebrating World Book Day. This is a lovely day at nursery and we look forward to it each year. We love nothing more than a good story and to share your children’s favourites too. This will take place on Thursday 4th March, so please come to nursery dressed as your favourite book character. Anything goes; weve historically seen a baby Poirot, Thomas the Tank Engine and, of course, plenty of Winnie the Poohs. If you feel happy to do so, your favourite book can come along too (please clearly label this). We will celebrate with a party tea and plenty of fun and games throughout the day.

Other important information

Don’t forget about our referral offer. When you refer a friend and they join the nursery, we would like to thank you with a £100 credit off your next invoice. We know you have lots of friends so there is no limit! We are always very grateful for your support and look forward to welcoming more of your friends into our nursery family! Terms and conditions apply so please speak to me for more information.

Thank you all for your continued support.
