The summer holiday club has been a real hit. We have had a lot of fun, amazing conversations and some really wonderful moments. It’s easy to forget the outside world when submerged in the imagination of the nursery environment. A bit of escapism is exactly what we have all needed.
The babies have explored with lots of messy play this month, but have especially enjoyed the bubbles. The toddlers have been busy creating lots of lovely artwork, baking and being involved in lots of role play with some of their new toys. The children in preschool have had an exciting few weeks. Joined by some of the older children, we have seen the dynamic change; the play is deeply engaged and challenging, and the children have so many wonderful role models to look up to in the older boys and girls, who, have been utterly fabulous with the preschool children. They have shown such nurture and care towards the smaller children and it is safe to say that all of the older children are so very popular!
What’s coming up in September
It seems strange to be welcoming in a new term when we all feel like we are missing a big chunk of nursery life. September seems to have appeared in a flash, yet so much of our timetable is still on hold. We are so delighted to welcome back many children, old and new, and we hope the start of term will be as exciting for you all as it is for us!
Please do update your EyLog with anything important, such as changes to routines or milestones achieved. It will help us all get our bearings in the first couple of weeks.
We have an action-packed term ahead and we really hope that, one way or another, we will be able to plan for, dare I say it, Christmas celebrations!
Other important information
We will be taking the four remaining inset days at the end of July 2021, so we will finish a week early 19th – 22nd July.
Two of our lovely team will be transferring to our Bampton setting, Alice Parry and Katie Dewe. Although this is sad for us all, we do wish them the very best.
Now that our gates are open, parents are invited to enter the car park, but please be mindful to keep your speed low and where possible, please continue to walk in.
The babies will be met at the wooden gate. Please can you walk with your child to this point, use the sanitiser provided and you will be met by a member of the team. For the toddlers and preschool children, we have a table between the classes. Again, please use the sanitiser provided and a team member will meet you.
You do not need to call us to tell us you are here. We will get to you but apologies in advance if you must wait a minute or two. It is a very busy time of day at drop off and collection, so please bear with us. We will not be meeting you in the car park to retrieve your child, please do bring them to us at the entrance doors.
If for any reason you have felt the need to get your child tested for COVID-19, please, out of courtesy, can you let the nursery know; we will also need proof of a negative result before you are able to return to us.
Our COVID-19 Parent Agreement is still operational. If your child develops any of the symptoms, you will not be allowed to enter nursery and you may be called to collect your child. We remain on high alert and are still upholding the stringent processes that we re-opened with. Should you have any questions, please do get in touch.
