These last few weeks have been so special; to see all of the children after their time away and to see how amazingly they have adapted to all of the changes.

We have had so much fun being back at nursery and the children are really happy to be back! We can’t wait to welcome back even more children and families in July.

June news

We have been incredibly lucky to have had lots of sunshine which has meant glorious days in the garden. We have lots of shady areas where the children can play safely which has been perfect. The nursery is looking sparkly and clean and the whole staff team that are here have been working really hard with all of the cleaning schedules to make sure everywhere is hygienic and safe. Even the children have been keen to get involved where they can and love their sniffle stations. We have never seen children so fantastic at washing their hands! Practice really does make perfect.

The children have taken part in World Wellbeing Week this week where they practiced some fun yoga and made a conscious effort to take the time during the day to be calm and aware of their surroundings. No falling asleep though – there was far too much fun to be had!

We also took part in World Environment Day this month and made our own little planters inside. Soon they will be ready to transition outside into our flower gardens.

What’s coming up in July

In July, we look forward to welcoming back more of our families. I can’t wait to see how the children have grown and hear all about what they have been up to at home with their families. We are stocking up the art supplies in readiness for Children’s Art Week which is in the first week of July. Hopefully the children will come home with lots of creative treasures for you, more so than usual!

We would usually be organising a big sports day at this time of year, but sadly the rows of parents cheering is not something we are going to be able to allow; however, we will not let this situation take away all the things that we love to celebrate with the children. We will still be taking part in sports day activities with the children and celebrating first, second and third place with small prizes and ice poles all round. Sports day will take place on Wednesday 15th July and we will be sure to upload all of the videos and pictures to your child’s EYLOG. We will send further information closer to the time.

Other important information

I’d like to reassure families with children who are going to school in September that there is a lot happening behind the scenes for transition. We’ve been speaking to the Reception teachers at local primary schools; they are all so lovely and are really keen to know as much as possible about the children.
