Boston August News: New Resources, Pirates and International Literacy Day

trip-7

August news

Well hasn’t August been a little whirl wind of weather! We’ve gone from having hose pipe and water days in the garden to watching thunder storms and rain down falls from the windows! Either way, the children have loved being outdoors, a little rain doesn’t stop us having fun.

In fact, we have had our first little outings since back in March. The children went to visit the ducks and spotted some trains and boats along the way. It was lovely to have a bit of normality with the children.

It’s literally been like Christmas morning here at the nursery throughout August! Have you seen all the parcels we have had delivered with amazing new resources? Each room in the nursery is now kitted out with the most amazing new toys and enrichments, all with so many learning opportunities. We have been incredibly spoilt and are super grateful.

The children have been making use of our new learning and fun at home display. It’s great to see photographs of you all at home doing your scavenger hunts. I’m so pleased you’re enjoying it. I will get some more activity ideas printed out very soon.

What’s coming up in September

In September, I am so excited to say that we welcome back the remaining staff team and all of our wonderful families. I can’t wait to see all of the friendly familiar faces again, we have missed you all so much!

Any not only that, we welcome new families to the nursery to start their Sandhills experience with us.

In September, we say goodbye to the Mr Men themed room names and say a big hello to our more fitting nature inspired room names which are as follows:

  • Mr Smalls – Hedgehogs
  • Mr Messy’s – Robins
  • Mr Busy’s – Squirrels
  • Mr Clever’s – Foxes

I hope you love them as much as we do!

September brings a few events with it, the first being International Literacy Day on the 8th September so prepare for lots off story recall after a day of singing, poetry and favourite stories.

On Friday 18th September, if your little one attends nursery this day, you might like to send them dressed like a pirate for Talk Like a Pirate Day. The week beginning the 21st September prepare for lots of eyLog notifications, as we celebrate and engage in Recycling Week.
