This month, all the children in nursery have celebrated St David’s Day, learning about all things Welsh! The children also had a great day celebrating World Book Day. The children thoroughly enjoyed sharing all of their favourite stories with their friends and acting out different parts of books. The children also celebrated ‘Green Week’ which linked up well with St Patrick’s Day. All of the children also had great fun getting creative for Mother’s Day!
Throughout March, the children in Stars and Twinkle Stars have been really enjoyed music time, moving their bodies in different ways to the music. The children have also thoroughly enjoyed their time out in the garden, exploring all to offer.
The children in Sunbeams have been busy with Mother’s Day activities this month. The children made cards and planted flowers to mark this day. For St Patrick’s Day, the children did circle printing with the colour green as the children have started showing an interest in shapes.
In March, the children in Comets and Planets have had lots of fun working on their cutting skills. They are trying really hard and are so proud of themselves. The children have also been working on their number and letter recognition.
What’s coming up in April
Over the next month, we will be celebrating Easter! With this, each room has some fantastic ideas to make this an extra memorable event for the children. Just to name a few of the activities and ideas the team have, the children will be creating Easter cards and decorating eggs; they will also be participating in paper basket weaving, making paperchains, creating paper mache eggs and playing with the baby animal farm small world. And, of course, there will be chocolate egg baskets and an Easter egg hunt. As a big surprise, we have a blow-up bunny!
The children will also be looking at Spring and making lots of crafts reflecting all things Spring. They will be learning about what this season means and the changes that it brings.
Next month, the children in Stars and Twinkle Stars will be introduced to baby yoga. The children will also spend some of April exploring animal sounds. Over in Sunbeams, the children will begin to practice their cutting skills. In Comets, the children will continue developing their cutting skills and number recognition. Next month in Planets, the children will continue to practice writing their names.
