Barnt Green December News: Polar Express, Christmas Bake Off and Party Day

December news
December has flown by! We have had such a busy time in nursery with lots of festive activities for the children to explore and engage with.
We have had a fabulous fun week with many themed dress up days. The children loved wearing their festive pyjamas and enjoyed some yummy hot chocolate and marshmallows on our Polar Express Christmas PJ party.
Christmas dinner was a hit, as always! The children pulled their crackers and ate very well; tucking into turkey, pigs in blankets, stuffing and all the trimmings. Thank you, Clare, for cooking up a storm.
We had our Christmas bake off this month. Lots of yummy creations were made and thank you for voting for your favourite bake.
The children also thoroughly enjoyed their party day in December. Party day was fantastic, full of festive dancing, singing and party snacks. The children all looked amazing in their party clothes. We ended the fun week with Elf day where everything was miniature.
What’s coming up in Janaury
The New Year will bring us new adventures and lots more learning to be had! We will be taking part in ‘National Reading Day’ on the 22nd January by having a day full of books and stories. The children will be invited to share their favourite stories and we will extend these favourite stories into their play.
As a nursery, we will be going sugar free during ‘Sugar Awareness Week’ which is from the 18th to 24th January. We hope to encourage the children to think about and make healthy choices to look after their teeth and bodies.
Other important information
We hope you have received your child’s ‘Winter 2020’ report. We will be holding parent chats in the New Year where you will have the opportunity to speak with your child’s key person and discuss any queries you may have to do with their report or development.
We wish you all a very Happy Christmas and a healthy New Year! We hope you have a safe yet enjoyable break and we look forward to seeing you all back at nursery from Monday 4th January 2021.
