August news

August has been a month of sunshine, heatwaves, thunderstorms and puddle jumping. The children have had so much fun learning indoors and out

We have said goodbye to many of our preschoolers this month as they leave to start the next exciting chapter of their school journey. Many children we have had at nursery since small babies and we have watched them grow and develop into bright and happy characters. Some children have only been with us for a short time but no matter how long each and every child has been at nursery with us, they have made many everlasting memories for us to smile about. You will all be missed greatly but we are all positive that each leaver will have the best time as they start off at school.

Good luck everyone and don’t forget to come and visit us.

What’s coming up in September

We welcome children back to nursery next month who have been off over the summer and welcome our new starters who we are really excited about coming to join our family at Barnt Green.

There are lots of events planned during September which will be great learning opportunities for the children. We will be participating in ‘National Read a Book Day’, ‘Roald Dahl Day’ and Recycling Week’.

‘National Read a Book Day’ is the 7th September where the children will be sharing books throughout nursery and preschool will be going on a walk to the woods to have their story time. We are asking parents to join in and share photos of you sharing books with your child in unusual places. Where will you read your next book? In a tent? In the bath? On a bouncy castle? You can send these via Eylog and we are extremely excited to see where you get to!

Please do look out for more information about these events in the coming weeks. We are very excited about them and we are sure they will be lots of fun for the children!

Other important information

Please ensure all children have suitable outdoor clothing for the unpredictable weather. Such as raincoats, jumpers or even puddle suits, so that the children can always have comfortable access to the outdoors.

From September can each pre-school child have a ‘PE bag’ with a change of clothes to be kept at nursery for when they have physical activities. The children will practise self changing, imitating school PE classes, in the preparation for starting Reception.
