Bampton November News: Pudsey, Fundraising and Fireworks

Nursery children playing outdoors

What a busy few months we have had! The nursery has been beaming with happy busy children and the staff have provided so many lovely and exciting activities and opportunities for the children to experience. We are all starting to feel rather festive with Christmas just a few weeks away!

November news

This month we have had great fun celebrating Bonfire Night! The Rainbow Room used toilet rolls to paint their own Firework displays. Meanwhile, in the Coral room we used a variety of different resources such as paint, crayons, gluing and sticking and more to create our Firework pictures.

The Rainbow Room have also made some lovely hedgehogs using real leaves as their spikes! We also made our own Poppy creations for Remembrance Day, alongside the Coral room watching a short video to help them learn about the significance of Remembrance Day.

The nursery had a fantastic Pyjama Day to raise money for Children in Need and took part in many different activities throughout the week, such as making a collage Pudsey head and some spotty bunting to decorate the nursery. We raised a grand total of £119.68, a massive thank you to everyone who donated.

What’s coming up next month

We are now only a few weeks away from Christmas so we will be super busy! We will be learning Christmas Carols, decorating the nursery, baking Gingerbread men and so much more!

Other important information

For our term time only children, term finishes Friday 17th December. The Nursery closes for Christmas break at 1pm on Friday 24th December. Nursery will re-open to all children on Tuesday 4th January.

Please can you ensure that your children are now coming to nursery with at least a hat and a coat, can we also ask that these are labelled with their names.

This month, we have received a lot of new reviews on Daynurseries, Google and Facebook. Thank you so much for taking the time to write such lovely reviews. They are hugely appreciated by our team! If you haven’t had the chance to write a review yet, you can write one on Daynurseries by clicking here, on Google or on Facebook. Thank you for your continued support!

Here’s to a fantastic and very festive month ahead!

Home activity

If you are looking for something to do at home this weekend or over the coming months, why not give our activity at home a go! Be aware that some activities or ideas may need to be adapted to suit your child’s age and development.

Create your own stained glass window

Please follow the activity idea below:

  • Use card to make a window, draw and cut out panes for the window.
  • Use tissue paper or sweet wrappers to create your stained glass effect, stick with glue or sellotape.
  • Alternatively you could do this with newspaper and old magazines.
  • Display for all to see.

What will your child be learning?

  • Independence, creativity and choice.
  • Mark making.
  • Colours.
  • Shapes and size.
  • Developing fine motor skills.
  • New vocabulary, e.g. big, small, cut, square, circle, window, red, blue, green, etc.
  • Sense of pride, achievement and self esteem.
  • Use of tools for a purpose.
  • Give meaning to marks they make.

Please share photos of your child’s activity on the parent app. We look forward to seeing your child’s updates.

Please continue to share what your child has been doing within their home life on the parent app, their interests and their development, so their key person can see this and use towards helping them monitor their development and learning.
