Welcome to our March newsletter! This month has been so lovely, watching the first signs of Spring appear and having some lighter evenings.
March has been a busy month, with the children across the nursery participating in a number of activities surrounding lots of different national events and celebrations.
March started with St David’s Day. To celebrate, the children planted their own daffodils and created some beautiful daffodil pictures using a variety of different resources.
The children also celebrated St Patrick’s Day this month by going green for the day! Thank you to everyone who found something green to wear on the day, it was great to see. They had so much fun doing Irish dancing, making shamrock pictures and enjoying Irish stew for lunch.
Sadly, this year we were unable to have our Mother’s Day breakfast as we normally would each March. I hope everyone loved the cards that the children made specially for that special person in their lives. They thoroughly enjoyed getting creative to show you all how much they love you!
This month, we also celebrated one of our very favourite events, World Book Day. Thank you to everyone who made such a fantastic effort for World Book Day. The costumes were all amazing and the children had lots of fun telling their friends about their costume and listening to lots of stories throughout the day.
This month, our Baby room garden got a revamp, which was very exciting. Thank you so much to Oscar’s dad who kindly spent one weekend putting the new climbing frame together. We all really appreciate it and the children are having so much fun on it. The Preschool garden has changed as well, with the tree being cut down and new flooring put in place. This has really opened the garden and so the space can be used much more!
What’s coming up in April
As with March, April is going to be another fun packed month. Easter is approaching so there will be lots of activities themed around this throughout the month. Of course, we will be having an Easter egg hunt! This will be great fun for all ages. There will also be lots of art activities, so as an advanced warning, get prepared for the glitter!
Other important information
Can I please remind all parents to wear a mask at drop off and pick up times.
I will be returning to the setting from 1st April. I am really looking forward to meeting all of the new parents and children face to face. I am also looking forward to seeing how the other children have grown and to see my wonderful team. I cannot wait to get involved in person again and talk to humans!
Please remember it is Good Friday on April 2nd and Easter Monday on 5th April. The nursery will be closed for all children.
As always, we are so grateful for all of your kind words, patience and support throughout these times.
