Bampton June News: Obstacle Courses, Water and Sunshine

Bampton Climbing

Hello all! What a glorious month of June it was, the sun was shining and we took full advantage. I would like to welcome all our new families to the nursery.

June news

All of the children across the nursery thoroughly enjoyed the lovely weather this month. They have enjoyed playing together outside and making the most of all of the learning opportunities in their outdoor environment.

The children in the 2-4 room have particularly spent a lot of time outdoors. They have been using the loose parts in the garden to create some fantastic obstacle courses. This encourages the children to use their gross motor skills as well as being able to assess their own risks. They all did fantastically!

The children in the baby room have enjoyed keeping cool during the very hot weather. They have been playing with lots of ice and water. The children developed their fine motor skills by pouring the water from container to container, focusing on developing their hand eye coordination.

What’s coming up next month

Both the baby room and the 2-4 room will be taking part in children’s art week, week commencing 05/07/2021, the children will use various materials to create their own masterpieces.

Where on earth has the year gone, I can hardly believe that we will be at the end of the term next month!  We are in the process of trying to arrange something special for the school leavers.  When dates have been confirmed I will let you all know.

On the last day of term, 22nd July, weather permitting, the pre-schoolers will visit the local park to celebrate.

Other important information

As some of you may have already noticed the 2-4’s garden is having a bit of a makeover.  Anna is taking charge of this project and is very enthusiastic, so please watch this space.

Can you please apply sun cream to your child before they come to nursery, this will be reapplied throughout the day.

A lot of the children prefer to take their shoes off whilst at nursery, if possible, could you provide some slippers or indoor shoes.  This is so if we have a fire alarm the children do not have to go outside barefoot. Also, a quick reminder that all clothes need to be named.

We have a few changes in staffing this month; Kate Wise’s last day with Bampton nursery will be the 5th July, she is transferring to our Filkins nursery. Tracy will be starting on the 5th July, she is transferring from our Heyford nursery and has almost completed her NVQ level three, she will be working 4 full days in the 2-4 room. We have Rhianne, who has started in the 2-4 room, she is working 4 full days a week. Hannah works 9-3 everyday in the 2-4 room. Finally, Lucy will be starting in the baby room 4 full days. A warm welcome to you all!

Thank you all so much for your continued support.
