Bampton July News: BBQs, Lollies and Village Walks

The Old Station Nursery Group - Creating Brighter Futures Together

Hello all! The month of July has been so kind to us again, and the children have loved playing out in the sunshine.

We had to say goodbye to some of our term time only children who are moving up to ‘big school’ in September and will be doing the same again to the rest of the oldest children during August.  We always feel very sad when children leave us to move on to school, but are so pleased that we have had the opportunity to play some part in their development as they now embark on the next exciting stage of their lives.

July news

This month we have said a sad goodbye to the school leavers in the Coral room, we have however celebrated in style, giving them a big send off!  We had a summer party, where we played some party games and had BBQ foods.

On the last day of term the school leavers were able to go for a walk and have a little play at one of the local parks.  It was lovely being able to get out into the village.  Hopefully we will be able to venture out a little more over the upcoming months.

The Baby Room have enjoyed playing outdoors throughout July, cooling off with plenty of water play, they have loved playing with the new water wall that is in the baby garden; filling containers with the water and watching it flow through pipes and cups. They have even enjoyed an ice lolly on the extra hot days!

What’s coming up next month

Looking forward to August the Baby Room will be taking part in lots of musical activities. They have been really enjoying nursery rhymes so we will be extending this interest by incorporating new approaches.

The Coral Room will be holding their own Olympic Games, using the school field we will be taking part in a variety of different races with medals for all! The Baby Room will be supporting the Coral Room by creating flags and banners.

Other important information

As some of you may already be aware, the Coral room, 2-4 room, was previously one big room.  Anna has now separated the room into two, having the younger children on one side and the pre-schoolers on the other.  This is going to have such a positive impact on the room and already we have noticed some of these benefits. By having the room divided, it allows the practitioners to really concentrate and focus on the children’s needs and plan the environment accordingly.

A quick reminder to please apply sun cream to your child before they come to nursery, this will be reapplied throughout the day. Please can you ensure that if your child is sent home in a change of clothes that these are replaced so that we still have some spares at nursery. Also could we ask once again that children’s clothes are named. Our cook Sarah will be starting her maternity leave at the end of August, Claire will be taking over in the kitchen! We wish them both the best of luck.

We just wanted to remind you of our Refer a Friend scheme. When you refer a friend and they join the nursery, we will thank you with a £100 discount off your next invoice. We know that you are always recommending us, so we just wanted to say a big thank you for your referrals. There is no limit on referring your friends, so please do refer as many people as you like! We are always very grateful for your support and look forward to welcoming more of your friends into our nursery family. For more information and terms and conditions, speak to the Nursery Manager.

Thank you all for your continued support as always.
