This month, the children across the whole nursery have really enjoyed celebrating Chinese New Year.
The Preschool children had fun doing a variety of art and crafts as well as food tasting; they especially loved having the spring rolls! The children also celebrated Valentine’s Day by decorating some biscuits and making some delicious smoothies, which the children really enjoyed and would love to make again!
In Preschool, the children have also been focusing on their phonics in small groups. They are concentrating on one letter a week, helping them to sound it out. The older children are encouraged to find words and objects that start with that letter as well.
This month, the Babies have enjoyed doing lots of art and crafts in the lead up to Spring. They had fun using their hands and feet to decorate bunnies and flowers. The children also made some beautiful lanterns and tasted some lovely Chinese food on Chinese New Year. They also enjoyed lots of delicious pancakes and a variety of flavours on Shrove Tuesday.
What’s coming up in March
Throughout March we are looking forward to upgrading the baby room garden with some new flooring, a new climbing frame and some other exciting resources.
The whole nursery will be turning green for St Patrick’s Day. The children will enjoy a traditional Irish Stew for lunch but, don’t worry, they won’t be having the Guinness!
It is also Mother’s Day next month, so the children will be creating something special for their mothers, aunties, grandmothers or someone special.
Other important information
For children who are term time only, here are the term dates:
Easter Holidays: Thursday 1st April and return to nursery on Monday 19th April
Bank Holidays: We are closed for all children on Friday 2nd April, Monday 5th April and Monday 3rd May
Just a polite reminder that we will not accept your child if they have had Calpol before their session and ask you to keep your child at home if they have a temperature or are poorly.
When picking up your children, could I please ask you not to allow any children on to the baby room equipment in the garden. This is for the baby room children only; we cannot have other children touching this equipment, especially as we are trying to stay safe in our bubbles.
Thank you for your continued support.
