A warm and sunny hello to all our lovely families once again. It has been such a great month, with the sun shining, and lots of fun activities for the children to enjoy in this weather. Our children have been very hot but have enjoyed finding ways to keep cool, such as water fights, water play and exploring some calming atmospheres in the cosy corners too.
Our babies have been enjoying a range of water sensory activities, such as frozen ice eggs filled with dinosaurs, water play, body painting, ice painting, and also encouraging lots of focus and listening activities as well.
This month our toddlers have been getting very independent, learning new ways to be able to do things for themselves. We have introduced rolling snack, where the children are able to select their choice of snack and chose when they wish to have it as well. This have been supporting their fine motor skills, such as scooping and pouring. Representing numbers also worked well along side this, allowing the children to become more confident and counting out their quantities of the food, milk, or water. Well done everyone!
This month we have celebrated our pre-schoolers getting ready to go off onto their next big adventures, getting them ready for school life. Our pre-schoolers have been enjoying making so many lovely memories with their friends as they are new getting ready to say goodbye as we come into the month of August. The children have enjoyed water fights, role play, dancing, sports day, party days and their leavers picnic.
What a wonderful day we had on Saturday 26th July celebrating each child graduating pre-school! We are now getting prepared for their last month with us before their school adventures begin. We enjoyed sports day, where all the children did such an amazing job, and we had such a lovely family picnic too. We just loved seeing all the children together having such a great time making memories. We are so pleased the weather held off for us to enjoy this day as well.
What’s coming up next month
Next month we will be working on the children’s own experiences, so if you have been to the beach, museums, farms and others, please share with us any pictures you have taken and we can then extend their learning further with all the children in their room.
Other important information
Please can we ask for named sunhats and sun cream to come to nursery as we have started having some nice weather and the sun can get strong quickly.
Remember to please look at our social media pages on Instagram and Facebook, to see what your little ones have been up to!
It is with great sadness that we will be saying goodbye to Emma this month. Emma has been apart of our Sandhills family for seven years now, and has become an integral part of our staff team and will be greatly missed by us all. Emma is now moving on to the next adventure, by training to become a midwife. We would like to wish her the very best of luck in her new career.
Congratulations to Max for passing his Paediatric First Aid training joining the rest of the Sandhills team here at Alvechurch holding this qualification.
Can we please ask parents if your children are playing on the field after nursery hours, can we please ask parents to not let their children use the field as a toilet. We use this field daily so please help us keep this clean.
Can parents please let us know if you are off on any summer holidays over August, thank you.
We just wanted to remind you of our Refer a Friend scheme. When you refer a friend and they join the nursery, we will thank you with a £100 discount off your next invoice.
