First of many steps….
05/08/09
A couple of months ago I was approached by a fellow business owner in the Lincoln area, who was trying to gather support to get a group together to go and complete a trek on the Great Wall of China to raise funds for charity. I remember making non-committal noises, not because I didn’t fancy it, but because life is generally pretty busy and I wasn’t sure how I would fit this in. However, once I looked at the website of the company organising the trip, I was hooked. The pictures of the Great Wall are amazing and I really thought that I shouldn’t turn down an opportunity like this. So, I am now in training to go and trek about 80km of the Wall in October, along with 9 other crazy business colleagues!
I am raising funds for Macmillan Cancer Support as we currently have several members of staff within the company undergoing treatment for cancer and very few of us are untouched by this disease. Many of our nurseries have agreed to help me fundraise and we have events taking place in lots of them in September and October. The children will enjoy learning about China and I think I might need a large suitcase to bring back all the dressing up costumes that are on order!
If you are able to support our fundraising efforts, that would be really fabulous. Just visit www.justgiving.com/oldstationnursery or click on the icon on this page and pledge whatever you can. Many, many thanks in advance.
