The Old Station Nursery Ltd is a young and dynamic company which operates children’s Day Nurseries and Out of School Clubs in Oxfordshire, Wiltshire, Rutland, Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire and Yorkshire. Our nurseries are designed to provide a secure, comfortable and stimulating environment for children between the ages of 3 months and 5 years. We also operate after-school clubs provide a relaxing and caring atmosphere for children aged between 4 and 11 years.
We opened our first nursery in 2002 and since then the company has grown steadily, creating a similar environment in each nursery and building on our ethos of a ‘home from home’ for your child. A team of qualified and experienced staff in each setting offers warmth, care and opportunities to learn, so that your child can develop and grow in an ideal environment.
We offer full day care or part-day sessions, as well as out of school care and are registered to receive Nursery Education Funding to help you to offset the cost of Nursery sessions for 3 and 4 year olds. We also help you to explore all the possible avenues for help with childcare costs, including advice on tax credits and employer childcare voucher schemes.
All children have a key person, who is responsible for their needs during their time at nursery. This will include making observations on your child’s development as well as giving meals and feeds and carrying out nappy changes or potty training, as appropriate. You will be included in your child’s day at nursery through daily diaries and record sheets (for younger children) and notice boards and conversations (for older children). You are welcome to our nurseries at any time, we have an open door policy and want you to feel free to drop in whenever you like and see what is going on.
Registration and Staffing
All Nurseries and Clubs within our group are registered with OFSTED, who carry out regular formal inspections. Our most recent inspection reports are available for you to view on the OFSTED website. The inspections ensure that we meet the standards required by OFSTED, including those specified by Environmental Health, the Fire Department and the Health and Safety Executive.
Our team of staff in each Nursery and Club is carefully chosen to reflect a balance of formal qualifications and experience, coupled with a genuine enjoyment of caring for children. The manager, deputy manager and all supervisors are qualified to at least NNEB/NVQ Level III standard, as are at least half of our Nursery Nurses. Many of our Nursery Assistants are also working towards these qualifications. We are very committed to staff training and development and have recently been awarded ‘Investors In People’ status, which we are very proud of.
